Is your 9-to-5 job grinding you down? Are you ready for a sweet vacation adventure with some of your closest friends?
Every year, more than 35 million people make the trek to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world.
It’s known for bachelor parties and wild nights, but there’s actually a lot more to the city than that. Las Vegas has great shopping, world-class dining, and top-tier entertainment.
Why let the guys have all the fun? If you’re thinking of going to Vegas, this article’s for you. We’ll give you the inside scoop on Sin City and help you plan your girls trip to Vegas.
Book Your Hotel First
Finding the best place to stay in Vegas is your first priority. Book as far ahead of time as possible to get the best deals, and make sure that your hotel is geared toward singles.
One way to get great Vegas deals is to go during the week. The nightlife is popping in Sin City, even on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
If you can, have one person make your hotel reservations. Ask the hotel if you can get a discount for booking as a group, and make sure you use your AAA and military discounts!
While it may be tempting to double up on rooms for the price, it could get a little complicated if you want to bring someone home after hours. Get your own rooms just in case.
Also, make sure that you book a taxi service from the airport to your hotel. You don’t want to have to deal with waiting in line for a cab.
Don’t worry if you can’t go for more than a few days. Studies show that going away for a weekend can give you the same health benefits as a longer trip. The whole idea is to relax and have fun!
Plan Your Meals
After you’ve figured out where to stay in Vegas, it’s time to think about your meals. If you plan to eat your way through Las Vegas, definitely book reservations ahead of time.
Even during the week, happy hour and dinner time spots will fill up quickly. If you’re in Las Vegas during the weekend, try to book your breakfasts and lunches in advance as well.
The good news about Las Vegas is that there’s always another restaurant a little further down the Strip, but you don’t want to have to go on a quest every time you want to eat.
Most casinos have pretty good buffets, but there are more than 10 restaurants in Las Vegas that have one, two, or three Michelin stars. That’s the highest honor that a restaurant can achieve.
Reservations for Michelin-starred eateries can fill up months or even years in advance, so it’s never too early to start booking.
Leave Time for Shopping
When you’re planning a trip to Vegas, don’t forget to work in time for shopping. You might not think of Sin City as a shopping destination, but there are two outlet malls just a short bus ride away.
If you’d rather shop for shoes than clothing, there are discount shoe stores and high-end shoe stores close to the Strip. Just remember to leave some room in your luggage for the trip home!
Other shopping options include chocolate stores, glass and mirror stores, and even recreational cannabis stores.
If you’re new to the Las Vegas scene, you should know that the state of Nevada has legalized recreational cannabis use. You can’t smoke it in public, but you can do at a cannabis dispensary.
Shopping for cannabis can be a bit overwhelming if you’ve never tried it before. There is a wide range of edible products, but just be careful not to eat too much at once.

See and Be Seen
One thing that Vegas girls need to do is take pictures — and lots of them! Make sure you bring your phone with you when you go out, and take as many pictures as you can.
Whether you’re walking along the Strip or chilling at a private cabana, dress to impress. You might never see these people again, but then again, you might meet your future husband.
You might want to skip the heels, though. The Strip is more than four miles long and you could be exhausted by the time you go to dinner, catch a show, and hit a club.
Right now, Elton John and Cirque du Soleil both have shows in Vegas. Jennifer Lopez is on a limited engagement, along with Britney Spears and Celine Dion.
The Blue Man Group and a Michael Jackson tribute show are also in Vegas right now. So take the time to see some stars in person!
No matter where you go, you’ll have the chance for a cool photo op. You might want to bring a collapsible selfie stick, though, so you’re not handing your phone to strangers.
Planning a Girls Trip to Vegas
The best time of year for a girls trip to Vegas depends on your agenda. If you want to go where the crowds are, take a trip during the summer or early fall.
If you’re looking for a quieter trip, go during the winter or early spring.
But again, start planning and booking as soon as you can. Wait until you’re sure everyone in your group can get time off of work, and then go ahead and start making reservations.
It’s okay to split up your group sometimes, too. Half the group might want to go shopping while the other half wants to lounge by the pool. As long as you know where everyone is, it’s okay to break out in small groups for activities.
Keep a good eye on your safety when you travel. Have one member of your group make sure that everyone gets home okay at night, and have one person hold all of the plane tickets.
